HOWARD KURTZ: Kevin McCarthy said it is “unconscionable for a president to indict the leading candidate opposing him.” Trump himself said Biden is trying to “jail his leading political opponent.”
Biden, any president does not have the power to indict. And I am not aware of any evidence that he intervened with the Justice Department. Isn’t that sort of overstating it, trying to lay it at the hands of the current president?
On the contrary, Constitutionally, only the President has the aurthority to indict anyone. Any executive authority anyone has in the executive branch is delegated to him or her by the President. The idea that the US Justice department is some sort of separate entity is a progressive fiction.
