Governments serve markets. Markets do not serve governments. Markets are comprised of individuals freely exchanging goods and services and, therefore, pre-exist government. The term “market is an abstraction but the individual transactions between individuals are real. No government anytime or anywhere ever has the authority to interfere with the free exchange of goods and services.
