SCOTUS foster agency case presents important questions on balance between religious freedom and antidiscrimination laws, experts say

Headlines like these show how tyrannical our courts have come. Rights are rights. They are never balanced against anything. Rights always trump legislation and policy. Always.

This language implies that a right is an interest. It is not. Further, even if a right were an “interest,” it is still neither the court’s lor legislasture’s role to balance it against another. An “interest” is personal. The law is not.
