God bless those making this effort as it sorely needed. A couple of thoughts:
It is not enough to defend the family. Currently, as the family is under assault and we have been conceding the moral high ground for decades in this country for decades, our posture is defensive. That is, it is any changing from, at best, delaying the attackers to actually holding our ground. The best defense is a good offense, though. As we have the truth on our side, we have the means to reclaim the moral high ground.
Yes, the family is ordained by God, but the family suffers because most modern people have either dismissed or rejected God as an authority. Further, for all the Christianity of this country’s Founders, the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were written for Godly people but they are not Christian documents. Yes, priests, pastors, rabbis, and their congregations shoud take the candle from under the bushel and proclaim the God’s Truth. In the political sphere, however, we must use the language of the laws of “Nature and Nature’s God.” That is, more of this type of language:
The natural family is essential for a nation to prosper because the family is the root of self-government, service, community, and personal responsibility.
While true, this statement gets the emphasis upside down. The family does not exist for the nation to prosper, the nation exists for the family to prosper. And, the family exists for the individual to prosper. Nations and families eventually cease to exist: the individual soul is immortal. Even pagans, such as Aristotle, discerned this truth.
