Her inability to respond to this question not only disqualifies her from being a Supreme Court justice, but from being any kind of lawyer. (It does not say much for her qualification to be a US citizen, either.) Unfortunately, she is likely parroting what she was taught in law school. It is more likely, though, that today’s law school curriculum would simply deny the existence of Natural Rights and treat the Declaration of Independence as a cynical, political ploy by white, rich men to gain political power just as that good, moderate Democrat Stephen A. Douglas did a century and a half ago.
